Distribution of registered trials in 23 years by WHO (1999 – 2022)
According to WHO data from 1999 to 2022, trials with an unknown or not applicable phase (455,586) were the most registered, followed by phase II trials (95,790) and phase III trials (75,475).

Distribution of active trials in AdisInsight (2014 – 2024)
Based on the AdisInsight database from 2014 to July 2024, 2023 recorded the highest number of active trials (4,769), with 1,595 trials in Phase II, followed by 1,009 trials in Phase I, 775 trials in Phase III, and 604 trials in Phase IV.
