The data indicates a steady increase in clinical trial activity, with 2023 marking the peak year for trial initiation. In 2023, the highest number of clinical trials were started, signaling a significant surge in research activity across various therapeutic areas.

Trials Suspended or Discontinued in AdisInsight database
While many trials reached successful completion, a portion of them were either suspended or discontinued due to factors such as funding issues, regulatory challenges, or lack of efficacy. Nevertheless, the overall trend highlights an expanding landscape of clinical research, with continued growth in the number of trials initiated each year.
